Another huge milestone! Wow they come fast!!! It's so weird to see her sitting- it's like she's a totally different baby!

Independence Day in Texas

This July 4th we decided we should "go big or go home". We went to the big firework/symphony show downtown. There were so many people but it was a lot of fun. We met up with a bunch of my old roommates family (Jill's from SLC) and hung out on the grass listening to music until the show started. The fireworks shot off over the river that runs through downtown and was set to the symphony music. I took video of the fireworks not because I'm a "video nazi" that films EVERYTHING, but because if you look close you'll see how the fireworks reflected off a nearby building- it was pretty neat. Oh and Danelle's reaction to the show was nice too! As for Danelle, she loved the fireworks. She didn't love staying up so late (cranky)- which is a good thing, but once she got over the loudness of the music and fireworks, she sat back and enjoyed the show!

Our Missouri Trip

We had so much fun visiting Lane's family in Missouri! It was so relaxing and perfect that we were able to break up our long drive from Pennsylvania to Texas. I didn't get pictures of everything but we did go to the Bluegrass Festival, kayaking/floating on the river, showing off our cute Danelle and mostly relaxing and eating good food!!!

Pool lovin' baby!

We've gone to the pool a couple times now and the girl loves it! I can't wait to get to Texas and have a pool in our own neighborhood that we can go to all the time!!!

Ready for Summer!

We are so excited for Summer! Too bad we skipped right over spring- going from sweaters to shorts in a matter of days! Danelle has enjoyed being outside- from walks, the swing,BBQ's, the pool and mostly just watching other kids play! Is her new swimsuit cute or what!? Danelle with Lydia (a girl I babysit sometimes)

Ode to Baby Thighs

Awwwww yes, the one time in your life where rolls, cottage cheese and dimples are the most adorable things you have ever seen! I must admit, I rarely ever put pants on this girl just because I love seeing her cute little legs! Granted there are lots of other babies out there with double the thigh circumference as hers (uh hem Chase) but none the less I can not get enough of them! Thank goodness summer is here and so are the short shorts and skirts-for her at least! Also the ONLY time in her life we will let her show off her legs!

More Please!!!!

We're trying to plump our little girl up so we started to feed her "baby food"! Even with more nursing the girl is always hungry so we decided to go ahead and start into the solids. I can see why a lot of moms wait till 6 months though- it's such a mess!!! The girl can't get enough though! We tried the rice cereal first and then slowly tried others. So far we've done Bananas and Squash and she really likes both. The second time we were feeding her the rice cereal she cried when it ran out and we stopped feeding her! We had to hurry and make more to keep her happy!!! I'll have to get some video of it next time- it's quite entertaining.

8 things you might not know about me (Danelle):

1. I'm studying Spanish- I love reading my warning label on my car seat and swing, especially the part in Spanish. (I also try and peel it off every time I see it). Plus my dad loves to talk and sing to me in espanol!












2. I still sleep in my swing- all the time. I know I know I should be using my big beautiful crib that my mom and dad got me, but let's face it, i'm an only child and I always get my way. Plus I think my mom's a little weak- she values her sleep way to much to keep fighting with me to sleep in my crib. Maybe we'll work on it next week... :)

3. I have the world's strongest abs. I can do sit-ups like you wouldn't believe! Just try laying me flat on my back and see what I can do. This is also the reason my mom can't get me to sleep in my crib... see exhibit A below: (it all started with the reflux problem...)

4. I have super long dark eyelashes! It's hard for mom to get a picture that really shows them off the way they truly are, but yeah, I got them so be jealous!



5. I take showers instead of baths.

6. I think our dog Cole is hilarious. Every time I seem him I mysteriously start giggling.

7. I have a mullet. And I make it look good. (mom will post a picture of it later).

8. I always have an "alert" look on my face. That's usually because I AM alert all the time. I love to stare at EVERYTHING! You should see me at the store when there are so many things to take in! Compare me to my 1 month photo- I was even alert then!
