Hawaii Day 4

We felt like sleeping in this morning and then heading over to Eggs 'n things in Waikiki for a nice big breakfast. The Macadamia Pancakes with coconut syrup were awesome and Lane got some sort of omelet with Portuguese sausage which is big over there (almost as big as Spam I guess).

After that we headed over to the windward side of the island to meet up with our neighbors who just happened to be passing thru!

We rented a kayak for a few hours and headed out to the "twin islands" also known as the Mokulua Islands.

For lunch we stopped at Teddy's for some burgers. The garlic fries are amazing!

We spent the rest of the day hanging out by Kualoa Ranch, and the beaches across from Chinaman's Hat island aka Mokolii Island. We didn't walk out to it since it was late in the day and the tide wasn't right. I also didn't get any real good pictures of the famous island, but the mountains are beautiful!

Lane then met up with a local who took him out spear fishing. The idea of me swimming in the ocean in the dark wasn't really my thing so I drove around Laie and checked out the Temple and the BYU Hawaii campus where my Mom went to school for a bit! This pic shows the guys already in the water (the light spots) and Lane getting ready.

There was a group of 5 of them, 2 of them who speak the true Hawaiian language (very cool to listen to), and they were pretty legit fishermen.

This wasn't the best pic, but look at the variety of fish and all the colors!!

They filled this tank in just under 2 hours!
